Prior to joining the Engineering faculty at Arkansas State University—CQ, Luis collaborated in multiple metal-mechanic industries such as wire rope, automotive, aerospace, and heavy industrial equipment, for international companies such as Wire Rope Corporation of America (WRCA), General Electric Aviation (GE), Nexteer Automotive and Tech Development, developing products for major OEMs like Boeing, Airbus, Rolls Royce, Honda, Man, Caterpillar, Ford, Chrysler, US Air Force, US Navy, and many others. 

 

During his professional career, he has performed as design, quality, field, technical sales, supplier quality, sourcing, design, continuous improvement, project, and product engineer, so he has deep experience in all the industry supply chain. 

 

Luis has certifications in continuous improvement techniques, and he was granted multiple patents around industrial starting systems. In addition, he won the GE engineering award (aka ERD) for his contribution to the certification of the Boeing 787-8 Landing Gear Systems. 

 

He has a great passion for building and sharing knowledge, not only around the faculty but also around the industry, and such, he is ready to transform the students into very well-versed, proactive, and audacious professionals.
